I’m willing to bet you love bananas as much as I do. If so, you probably have more bananas in your home than you know what to do with. Sometimes they just go bad and you have to throw them out, but I’d rather DO something with them, I hate waste!

This is a cool way to use up your bananas…by making Chocolate Covered Banana Pops. You want to use bananas that are getting “old” or in other words, they have black spots on their skin, though I guess you can say that they are getting ready, but not just yet, to be thrown out.

Over the last 2 weeks there has been conversation’s about chocolate covered bananas, which is why I have decided to look further and put this out on Sweet and Savory Recipes, and what you’ll need to make them.

Here’s what you need:

4-5 ripe bananas (not over ripe)
1 – 24 oz package Plymouth Pantry chocolate bark or candy coating
Popsicle sticks or chop sticks
sprinkles, rice krispies or chopped nuts
2 – tablespoon’s creamy peanut butter, optional
waxed paper or foil

So I thought that everyone with little children would like to know just how EASY they are to make yourself.  It would be an activity for you and your little ones to get involved with…it’s FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! Also, feel free to use whatever you want as a topping. This recipe calls for sprinkles and peanuts, but I’ve always been partial to shredded coconut myself. You can also leave it plain if you wanna be boring, do what you like!

Thanks to Tina from Mommy’s Kitchen for making this banana pops recipe fun of everyone. These are the perfect snack for those hot days we have coming up. Be sure to head over to Mommy’s Kitchen now for the full instructions. Enjoy!
