Now that Christmas and New Year’s Eve are both over, it’s time to start eating healthy…let’s start with snacks! Here’s one you should try making for your kids, Sweet and Spicy Apple Crisps.

When I was growing up there was a saying – An apple a day, keeps the doctor away…I wonder if it means the dentist, TOO!!!!  Well, you are putting sugar on these apples, but it’s not a lot. It’s just for flavor after all, so you can try using Stevia or any other sweetener of your choice instead.

Here’s what you need:

2 large apples, such as Braeburn, Jazz, Pink Lady, or Gala, cored
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground chipotle chile pepper

I would like to thank Better Homes and Gardens (BHG) for these delicious Sweet and Spicy Apples Crisps. Next time you or your kids get a craving for potato chips, grab some of these instead. Eating HEALTHY was never so easy. Or TASTY for that matter! If you would like to try these for yourself, then be sure to head on over to Better Homes and Gardens now for the full instructions. Enjoy!
