Can you tell how much I love apple pie? I mean, here I am with yet another recipe for making an apple pie with a twist, and this will work out better than you think!

It’s basically an apple pie, but instead of putting it in a pie tin, you bake it in a pan that is 10X12 inches. Some people call this a “Dutch Apple Pie” but I just call it delicious!

So, the best part about it is that it’s bigger than a regular pie. I mean, having more pie can only be a a good thing, right? This recipe is for an apple slab pie, and is exactly what it sounds like.  It really is delicious and I guarantee that everyone will love it and probably come back for seconds and maybe even thirds. And that’s perfectly fine, there should be plenty of goodness to go around!

Here’s what you need:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 egg yolks, beaten
4 tablespoons water
8 apples – peeled, cored and cut into thin wedges
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups white sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup butter
