At least once a week I get a craving for a hamburger and I love to make a little different recipe every time.  This is one that I found during a search that sparked my interest because you use cheese, chedder and cream, and it’s not just as a topping–  you stuff it INTO the burger.  Genius, right?  I would never think of using bread crumbs or cream cheese when making burgers, but this is a really great recipe.  It’s very simple to put together and the burgers with sage, rosemary, parsley and mustard have an incredible taste.  You can change the recipe anyway you please.  I love cheese, so I also put my favorite American cheese on top and made my favorite sweet potato fries.  The recipe makes a wonderful meal, give it a try!

Here’s what you need:

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
3 teaspoons Dijon mustard, divided
2 green onions, thinly sliced
3 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried sage leaves
1 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
4 hamburger buns, split
Optional toppings: lettuce leaves and tomato slices

My thanks go out to Taste of Home for this awesome recipe that is bound to become a staple in our house. There’s nothing quite like that first moment when you bite into a juicy burger and you’re greeted by a stream of melted cheese! So yummy!
