Now THIS is interesting! These little guys aren’t exactly what they seem. They LOOK like watermelons, but they are, in fact, limes and jello! These mini watermelons are sure to be a crowd pleaser and conversation starter at your next party. The best part? This treat can be made for any occasion– from adult get-togethers to children’s birthdays. That’s right, you can choose to make this with plain water OR vodka! This recipe comes from Grandparents.com and from the book Hello Jell-o, by Victoria Belanger.

Here is what you’ll need to make these Petitie Watermelons:

1 cup boiling water
1 (3-ounce) package
strawberry-flavored gelatin
1 cup chopped fresh or frozen and thawed strawberries
1/2 cup cold water or vodka
5 limes, halved, pulp scooped out and discarded, and rind halves reserved
1 teaspoon black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or basil seeds

These look so awesome when they are done, it’s almost a shame to eat them. You should, however, since the lime rind will sour the jello if you wait too long to serve/eat them! So keep that in mind. For the full instructions, head over to Grandparents.com. Enjoy!
