It’s almost July 4th! And while it might be a rainy mess over by me, effectively ruining any chance I have of going to a good old Independence Day BBQ, I wouldn’t want to deprive you of a good time. You might wanna try making this interesting recipe I found for Coca-Cola BBQ Ribs. That’s right, Coca-Cola, as in the soda. I usually drink soda at BBQs, but COOKING with it is a new one on me! Some people use beer in BBQ so I guess it’s not too farfetched and, like beer, I’m sure it adds an interesting and unique new flavor to your ribs or chicken. Sounds great to me! I can’t wait to try this! If you feel the same way, check out below!

Here is what you’ll need to make Coca-Cola BBQ Ribs:

1 (1.5 liter) bottle of Coca-Cola (not diet!)
1 large onion, quartered
6 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
2 racks baby back ribs (about 4 pounds)

FOR THE SAUCE
2/3 stick unsalted butter
1 small white onion, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
1½ tablespoons yellow mustard
¼ cup dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 (12 ounce) can Coca-Cola (not diet!)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

My mouth is watering just thinking about this recipe! I’m gonna go grab a Coke. In the meantime, you can get the full instructions for this recipe over on babble.com now.  Enjoy!
