When I was young there was nothing better on a warm day than hearing the ice cream truck coming around the corner.  Now a days, the variety of different flavors at the ice cream cafes are unlimited. Geez, if only 10 year old me could be here now, her head might explode!

As a mom I still love to take my kids for a cone after dinner, but I thought, wouldn’t it be great to try to make my own creations at home?
As I was searching for ideas, my inner Italian came out and I found this recipe for gelato that seemed perfectly easy.  The recipe includes great ideas of adding cookies, nuts, powders and more for incredible variety.  Using fresh fruits and creams gives your gelato a wonderful freshness and knowing it’s right in your own freezer is a convenience that you’ll love!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 cups whole milk
1 cup whipping cream
