Making homemade bread takes a little patience, but I think everyone should try it at least once.  One of my favorite Sunday breakfast treats is making and serving warm homemade cinnamon bread with a great big cup of coffee.

This is a recipe for a cinnamon loaf that I found that I use quite often and it’s wonderful.  You can make the dough ahead of time and keep in your refrigerator for up to two days or put it all together in the morning, just make sure you allow at least an hour for the dough to rise.  Having homemade warm bread on a lazy day that you made with your own two hands makes for a great day. And this bread also happens to be incredibly tasty as well!

Here’s what you need:

3/4 cup milk
1 package active dry yeast
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Chopped pistaschio nuts (optional)
QUICK GLAZE
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 – 2 tablespoons milk
