As of this writing, we are currently experiencing our first truly HOT day of the year so far. My phone says it’s currently 90 degrees outside, but I dunno, it feels worse to me. Summer is in full effect now, and as I sit here trying to pass the time, wondering what recipes to bring to you  today, I feel the need for something cool and refreshing! What could be more refreshing at a time like this than a smoothie? There’s plenty of “standard” everyday smoothies out there, but if you know my blog, you know that I want something a bit more… out there. That’s when I came across this recipe over on girlsgonesporty.com for a Banana & Sweet Potato Smoothie that really caught my attention. Sweet Potato?!? Yup! Basically this makes your smoothie taste pretty much like a drinkable Pumpkin Pie. Sign me up! You know you wanna try this! Heck, I do too!

Here is what you’ll need to make Banana Sweet Potato Smoothies:

2 large sweet potatoes, cooked and cooled
1 medium banana
1 cup plain almond milk
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (we used vanilla honey flavored)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cinnamon sticks, as garnish

I can’t think of a better way to beat the heat! This sounds awesome! For the full instructions, head over to girlsgonesporty.com now. Enjoy!
