Well, it’s time to start baking your Christmas cookies…along with house decorating, both inside and outside…Christmas shopping…wrapping gifts…party planning…and everything else that seems to pop-up in the month of December. It’s gonna be a busy month!

Have I got a recipe for YOU! How does Melt-In-Your-Mouth Shortbread sound to you? I sure hope it sounds as good to you as it did to me! This shortbread cookie is quick and easy and it will melt in your mouth when you take a bite. Why don’t we get your party started by chopping your cherries…melting your chocolate…getting your sprinkles ready so you can decorate your cookies as you see fit.

I just thought of it…these shortbread cookies might even taste good with lemon peel or orange peel mixed in before they are even baked. I can’t wait to experiment with that. I think I know some good taste testers in my household…

Here’s what you need:

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
