If, like me and my kids, you like s’mores, than you will love this recipe for s’mores bars that I found the other day. It’s a really great recipe that tastes just like you’ve made s’mores on your grill.

The crust of the bars, which are on the top and bottom is made with flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, sugar, baking powder, salt and graham cracker crumbs and then the middle is made of melted chocolate chips and a container of marshmallow creme or fresh marshmallows, either will do. They are just as messy as the traditional s’mores, but it’s a taste that is one step above the grilled or open fire options. It’s just great to have this option when you don’t have the grill going, plus left overs are easy to keep in the pan for later.

Here’s what you need:

Nonstick cooking spray
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole-wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups dark chocolate chips
3/4 cup caramel bits
14 graham crackers, broken into small pieces
